Multi-Aircraft Door Trainers Delivered to Support Qantas Cabin Crew Training
Specialist training devices designed to support door operation and evacuation procedures across multiple aircraft types
Perth, Australia. Spatial has completed the delivery of a series of door training devices for Qantas, with the installation finalised in June 2025. The project includes dedicated door trainers representing the Boeing 737, Airbus A330 and Boeing 787 aircraft types, supporting the airline’s cabin crew training requirements across a mixed operational fleet.

Door trainers play a critical role in preparing cabin crew to operate aircraft doors safely and confidently during both routine and emergency situations. By providing aircraft-specific training devices, the installation enables crews to practise door operation procedures aligned with the systems and configurations used across the Qantas fleet.
The trainers allow instructors to deliver structured door operation training while reinforcing correct procedures for arming and disarming doors, slide deployment and coordinated evacuation actions.

Providing dedicated door trainers for multiple aircraft types allows training teams to deliver consistent instruction while ensuring crews remain familiar with the operational differences between aircraft models.
The devices support practical training sessions where cabin crew can rehearse door operation procedures repeatedly within a controlled environment, helping build confidence and reinforce safety-critical actions that may be required during real-world operations.

The project was delivered in collaboration with the Qantas training team to ensure the devices support the airline’s cabin crew training programmes and operational procedures.
With installation complete, the trainers now provide Qantas with a flexible training capability for delivering door operation instruction across several aircraft platforms.
