Icelandair Enhances Cabin Crew Training with New A321 Evacuation Trainer
Reykjavík, Iceland. Spatial has completed an Airbus A321 Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer (CEET) for Icelandair. The installation forms part of the airline’s continued investment in modern training infrastructure aimed at strengthening cabin crew preparedness across a range of operational scenarios.
Comprehensive Cabin Training Environment
The trainer has been designed to closely replicate the Airbus A321 cabin environment, incorporating both business class and economy class layouts to reflect the aircraft’s operational configuration.
The device features actual Airbus A320-series doors and overwing exits, enabling crews to practise door operation and evacuation procedures using equipment consistent with the aircraft they operate. A replica flight deck section further enhances the overall training environment, helping crews develop familiarity with aircraft layout and emergency coordination procedures.
Integrated cabin and window visual systems create an immersive training environment, while CCTV monitoring allows instructors to observe and review crew performance during exercises
Simulating Real Emergency Scenarios
To support a broad range of safety training scenarios, the trainer includes a virtual slide training system alongside fire simulation capability in multiple cabin locations. These features allow instructors to replicate realistic emergency situations, enabling crews to practise response procedures in a safe and controlled setting.
By combining physical aircraft features with advanced simulation technology, the device provides Icelandair with a flexible platform for delivering both routine safety instruction and complex emergency response training.

The trainer was developed in collaboration with Icelandair’s training team to ensure the device aligns closely with the airline’s operational procedures and cabin crew training objectives.
