The project was delivered in close collaboration with Qantas representatives including Paul Criticos, Senior Instructor Aviation Safety, and Philip Ellis, Manager Technical Programs. Spatial’s Project Director, Ashraf Al-Jibbouri, led the commissioning of the device.
The trainer incorporates an A320 family main exit door alongside both classic plug-type and A321neo gull-wing over-wing exits, enabling training across the full range of aircraft configurations within the fleet.
Additional features include decompression training through an automated oxygen mask system and a real-time visual system capable of simulating emergency scenarios such as fire, smoke and water conditions across door observation and cabin windows.
The device will support Qantas and Qantas Group cabin crew training programmes by providing a realistic environment for practising safety and emergency procedures.
Spatial would like to thank the Qantas team for their collaboration throughout the project and looks forward to continuing the partnership on future training programmes.
